Expanded clay aggregate or ECA ® is used for Refractory elements ? Please explain.

Due to its thermally-insulative properties, lightweight, and ability to absorb high and low temperatures without deforming or changing shape, ECA ® (Expanded Clay Aggregate) is commonly used for refractory applications, where materials are regularly subjected to extreme temperature fluctuations. ECA ® can be combined with common refractory binders, such as high alumina cement, to create a refractory element that is incredibly strong and has powerful insulative properties that help prevent high temperatures from affecting surrounding areas and structures.

Commonly, it is used in the construction of refractory elements such as fireplaces, chimneys, fireplaces, and pizza ovens, but can also be used for kilns, casting, and other high-temperature, industrial applications.
