Expanded Clay Aggregate - ECA, also known as expanded clay pebbles or clay balls or lightweight expanded clay aggregate, is a round pellet structure produced by firing natural clay at a temperature of 1200°C. The result is a hard, honeycombed structure of interconnecting voids within the aggregate. The particles formed are round in shape and generally range in size from 0-30 mm. Expanded Clay Pebbles or Clay Balls (ECA®) is up to 6 times lighter than traditional aggregates. Expanded Clay Pebbles or Clay Balls (ECA®) is preferred due to their ability to reduce earth pressure up to 70-75% compared to conventional building materials in the market. Expanded Clay Pebbles or Clay Balls (ECA®) help increase ground stability while reducing settlement and land deformation.
